Streetman used to have the best encampment in Seattle, he said. Even the police said so.
He had a mattress and a little rug and lived somewhere amid the brushes and trees in the city, until one day the police -- the same ones who complimented him on it -- took the mattress and the rug away to clear out the encampment.
He thought it was rude when a reporter asked him where he camps now.
'It's not a camp -- it's a home,' he protested. 'Would you tell me where you live?'
Told where the reporter lives, he said, 'Then would you give me the keys to your place?'
