You must register before bidding, and all items are posted at a minimum of 50 per cent savings and some even higher. Many items have opening bids at $20.

This year’s items include home and garden supplies, restaurant gift certificates to places like Tall Trees, Killarney Lodge, La Dolce Vita, Nor’Loch Lodge and 3 Guys and a Stove, among others. Original pictures and other art works are also up for grabs as well as a wide selection of tools, massages and gym memberships. Larger items in the auction include a four-night stay at the Fairmount Chateau Whistler and two rounds of golf at the hotel’s course (value $1,800), a four-day, three-night fly-in fishing trip for four people to northern Ontario (value $4,000), golf green fees at Deerhurst Highlands, Delta Mark O’Meara, Bigwin Island and other area courses. Also up for grabs are an 11-foot kayak (value $820), a Serta queen-size mattress and box spring (value $1,200) and a Dell Inspiron laptop computer (value $700).

The auction officially takes place this Sunday from noon to 5:30 p.m. in Partners Hall at the Algonquin Theatre, and the public can come in, watch the auction live and bid on items while there. All the auction items will be available for pickup at the theatre on the day of the auction.

Auction items will also be available for preview this Friday from noon to 4 p.m
